Histology Specimen Containers
There are different sized specimen containers available to suit tissue specimens of various dimensions. All containers must be labeled with appropriate patient identifiers (minimum 2 identifiers include – full name and date of birth) and specimen site.
Requisitioning Specimen Containers
Empty specimen containers are requisitioned through supply.
70 ml specimen containers pre-filled with 10% Formalin are available from Anatomical Pathology (telephone 907 62476).
Select an Appropriate Container Size
Please choose a container which is an appropriate size for the specimen.
Do not force specimens into containers that are too small. This impedes fixation and can introduce distortion artefacts which hinder dissection, macroscopic assessment and microscopic interpretation. |
