Fresh Tissue Pot (sterile, Yellow cap) with RPMI
Collection & Request Instructions:Deliver to laboratory within 60 minutes

Do not place tissue in formalin.  Fresh tissue (placental chorionic villi, foetal skin, cartilage, cord or muscle) is required for this assay.

Collect tissue in sterile manner,  place into a sterile yellow top container with culture transport medium (RPMI 1640) or viral transport media.  Sterile normal saline will prevent dessication if neither of the above is available. Transport Products of Coneption in collection bag. A pathologist will assess for selection of appropriate tissue.

Do not freeze. Refrigerate if received out of hours.

Deliver immediately to Alfred Anatomical Pathology or Alfred Central Specimen Processing.
