Collection & Request Instructions:
Bronchial brushing smears.
 
Please place smears in fixative immediately before they have a chance to dry in air. White plastic Coplin jars and green alcohol fixative solution are available from the Cytology laboratory.
 
Bronchial Washings and Bronchoalveolar lavages.
 
These specimens require no fixative to be added, but need to be sent to Pathology Central specimen collection without delay.
