Collection & Request Instructions

*New - Collect an second container (EDTA 10ml) for blood samples. Monash are now running the geneexpert for BCR-ABL p210 in parallel with the older assay.*

Need 2.5ml of Blood in a PAXgene tube and/or 3 mL of Bone Marrow in EDTA.

PAXgene tubes are stable for 3 days at room temperature and can be collected 7 days a week.

Liase with the Haematology Registrar on ext 63075 before collecting any urgent BCR-ABL testing.

*New - For blood samples - Collect both a 10 ml EDTA + PAXgene tube. Monash are now running the geneexpert for BCR-ABL p210 in parallel with the older assay.*

For Bone Marrow samples only an EDTA container is required.

Liase with the Haematology Registrar on ext 63075 before collecting any urgent BCR-ABL testing.
