False results may occur after blood transfusion, venesection, in anaemia associated with haemolysis or reticulocytosis.

Note: A separate EDTA tube is required for HbA1c testing.

If requesting both FBE and HbA1c - 2  x 3 mL EDTA tubes must be collected and sent to the laboratory for analysis.
