Additional Notes:

All requests on patients <18 years old do not require approval by a pathologist. Please contact laboratory if urgent so immediate transportation can be organised. All requests on adults (>18 years old) require approval by Chemical Pathologist.

For diagnosis samples: samples taken during acute episode are suitable.

For Non-acute samples: Ideally collected early morning (fasting). Samples collected post prandial show increases in amino acids.
