 A sendaway referral form will print.

Results when returned are entered into the NGYN reprort by Cytology staff. The result can be verified by the duty pathologist.

Wherever possible, the patient should be referred to the collection facility at the Royal Womens Hospital.

Semen analysis is not performed by APS and must be referred to the Andrology Unit of the Royal Womens/Childrens Hospital

These are time critical samples.

Note: Samples for infertility investigations, donor screening and pre-chemotherapy cryopreservation must be collected at the collection centre of an  appropriate Andrology service (e.g. Royal Womens Hospital, Monash IVF, etc).

The requesting doctor must send the patient directly to one of these services.

The patient will be required to make an appointment with the appropriate collection centre.

Only semen samples for Post-Vasectomy examination are suitable for sendaway.
