Time critical - do not delay handling !

Preferred sample (allows all tests to be performed) is 10 mL of EDTA whole blood, unspun, stored at room temp, and sent overnight to arrive with 36 hrs of collection.

A request for VLCFA (only) can be performed on 2ml of heparinised/EDTA plasma, centrifuged, aliquoted, stored and sent frozen within 48hrs of collection.

Needs to arrive in Adelaide laboratory within 24-48 hours of collection. Do not collect for sending on Fridays.
