- 2x EDTA (4 mL preferred)
- OR
- Lith Hep with or without gel
- OR
- SST with or without gel
- PROCESS URGENTLY
- Do not cancel where specimen issues arise
- Between 0800 to 1700 Notify Biochemistry Pathologist.
- Out of hours Notify On-Call Biochemistry Pathologist via liason with Biochemistry staff.
- Order METHANOL for first tube
- Order MISC B for second tube received (Test/s requested to be entered in the label comment field and order comment as per standard MISC B process, also state the specimen type EDTA or LithHep)
- Centrifuge specimens manually
- Aliquot specimens accordingly
- 0.4 mL in a Sarstedt Micro Tube
- Deliver METHANOL sample to Biochemistry, communicate urgency
- Distribute MISC B sample sendaways rack - fridge
