  • 2x specimens to be received
    • 2x EDTA (4 mL preferred)
    • OR
    • Lith Hep with or without gel
    • OR
    • SST with or without gel
  • PROCESS URGENTLY
  • Do not cancel where specimen issues arise
    • Between 0800 to 1700 Notify Biochemistry Pathologist.
    • Out of hours Notify On-Call Biochemistry Pathologist via liason with Biochemistry staff.
  • Order METHANOL for first tube
  • Order MISC B for second tube received (Test/s requested to be entered in the label comment field and order comment as per standard MISC B process, also state the specimen type EDTA or LithHep)
  • Centrifuge specimens manually
  • Aliquot specimens accordingly
    • 0.4 mL in a Sarstedt Micro Tube
    • Deliver METHANOL sample to Biochemistry, communicate urgency
    • Distribute MISC B sample sendaways rack - fridge
Transport Instructions between Sites and/or Laboratories:Send to lab immediately
